Kiwi Nurseries

Kiwi Nurseries are a garden centre nursery with centres in Wigan and Manchester, the owner being of New Zealand heritage hence the 'Kiwi' name.

The brief was to create an online presence for them with (as of typing) the covid 19 outbreak both their centres were closed due to health restrictions, but they had begun delivering contactlessly which adhered to government guidelines. Due to the perishable nature of the product the business would have been impacted massively if it had had to close.

A system needed to be created by where a customer could choose through a list of products online, submit a form with the wishlist and usual details and KN would contact them for payment.

Again due to the perishable nature of the product an online store wasn't an option as products could easily be out of stock before an order had been viewed.

I took the original identity, a silver fern leaf, in this case the same design as used by the All Blacks, and created a 'K' mark which used a similar leaf design for the legs of the 'K' I tried to keep the recognisable design of the top leg to mimic the All Blacks version, but illustrated from scratch to not infringe any copyright. I also added the 'Kiwi Nurseries' brand name to the identity, mixing typography which was used throughout the website too.

I also designed and built the website to include instructions on how to order online, a price list and the order form. As mentioned a typical online sales solution wasn't an option so a product gallery page was created to showcase the deliverable stock this pulled in the gallery from facebook and was also a reference point for any customers who weren't quite sure on what they were ordering.
